Parent Packet 2024-2025
2024-2025 Season
Purpose
The Avon Quarterback Club is a not for profit group made up of volunteer parents, guardians, and coaches that believes deeply in the success of our student athletes. We recognize that in order for our football program to continue to be successful, it takes coaches, students, parents and strong community support to join forces. The AQC needs YOU as a parent/guardian to help make it a successful season for the players and managers.

How do we provide all of this?
$65 Player Fee
Paid to the AQC in August
- The Player fee is collected in order to provide the Pre/Post Game meals. Each traveler receives two (2) meals per away Game (10 meals in total)
- Each meal consists of a sandwich, snack, drink
- We solicit the volunteers to pick up, transport, and serve the meals to the Team weekly. The Pre/Post Game Coordinator will send out a Sign Up Genius in order for you to sign up for Gatorade/Coolers or for Meal/Tables
- It is important to Coach Gibson that the Players are able to eat a nutritious meal prior to and after a Game.
- This is NOT the same as the Program Fee charged by the school and paid through eFunds.
Quarterback Club Fundraising
We need everyone’s help!
- The funds raised by the AQC are used to purchase snacks, drinks for youth camp, TNT Dinner supplies, Saturday Morning Victory donuts and milk, steak and potato Senior Dinner, additional uniform items, etc.
- When asked to help, it could be as simple as sending out emails to vendors requesting items for donations
- Kroger Community Rewards Program – Continuous; sign up so a portion of your grocery bill goes to the AQC.
- Golf Outing – This outing provides about $10.000 in funds. There is a Committee that starts meeting in April to reach out to past participants, past sponsors. This is our most profitable fundraising event and it takes about 20 volunteers.
- Concession Stand Duty – August thru May; each year the Athletic Department assigns all sports organizations with a number of Concession stands that need “manned”. It is our responsibility as a Program to cover the ones assigned to Football.
- Community Day – August; this is an annual event hosted by the National Champion Band Program. They simply ask that we provide Concessions Staff that day. This year to step it up we may have a Booth to generate some additional monies (TBA)
- Club Fundraiser – June; the Club runs its own fundraiser with Coach’s support at the beginning of summer. Participation is strongly encouraged.
- Coach’s Fundraiser – August; the AHS allows each Program to run a fundraiser that requires the participation of each student athlete in their Program.
Are you NEW to the Program?
Football Parents 101
We are here to help you sort through AQC and the AHS Football Program.
Remember, if you can’t find what you are looking for, just ask!
- www.avonqbclub.com – This is the Club Website and we are working on it weekly to keep it up to date and relevant.
- Facebook Page – Avon QB Club Group Page – This is where we will post photos from games, scrimmages, and practices that our Club Photography crew has taken, News from Coach, and volunteers needs, minutes from the meeting, etc.
- Avon Quarterback Club emails – These will hit your mailbox ONE time a week with important information that may include, but not be limited to the news from the Club, but also information that Coach wants parents/guardians to be aware of.
- Instagram/X – This is where we will Post or re-Post news about our Football Program, only relevant happenings.
- At the Game – Here’s what you can expect when coming to a Home or Away Game:
- TAILGATES – We encourage you to grab a group of friends and host a Tailgate at either Home or Away games…invite someone new to meet. If attending a Home game, you can plan to start this early (5:00 – 5:30pm) so you can make it to kick off on time.
- TICKETS – Most school programs now require that you purchase your tickets online. The School will share that link with us the week of the Away Game. If we don’t receive a LINK, we then can assume that Cash is accepted at the Gate. I would encourage EVERYONE to purchase a SEASON PASS from the Athletic Department that includes your admittance to all school athletics (with the exception of IHSAA events)
- CHEER – We have all secretly been excited about our student athlete being on a TEAM, and that day has arrived! So let’s be excited and encouraging about that. Please be courteous to our neighbors while at the game, either in the stands or at the fenceline…you never know who hears you! We have Coaches staff families, players’ grandparents (don’t upset grandma!) and the families of our Trainers and Managers sitting next to you. We are all FANS of the same Program and we need to cheer in a positive way. AFTER we score the EXTRA POINT, be prepared to STAND and SING the School Song (included in this packet)
- HOME OPENER – The Freshman Class liaisons, families, and players HOST our first Tailgate. It occurs at 5:30pm, includes entree, sides, desserts. The AQC can assist with helping to organize the Sign Up Genius. ALL Football families are invited to attend. We ask that the Freshman Class organize and host the event.
- SENIOR NIGHT – this is at a HOME GAME; the Athletic Department takes :30 during Pre Game to introduce our Seniors and their families. It is a special time for those families and players. Please plan to attend from the stands in the stadium and cheer for these dedicated student athletes.
- AVON QUARTERBACK CLUB MEETINGS – These occur ONCE a month, typically the 3rd Wednesday, in the Coaches Team Meeting room located behind the stadium and accessible under the bleachers. We keep the meeting to 1 hour. Coach visits and updates us with the goings on with the Program, his Team, and other news you may not hear in our email or Facebook Posts. We discuss the health of our Budget and love to hear from YOU about what you would like to see the Club do for our Players and Coaches.
- TNT DINNERS – Thursday Night Team Dinners; this is a right of passage for Sophomore, Junior and Senior Players. The AQC Hosts a family-style meal (home-cooked as well as restaurant donations) served to the Team in the school directly after their Thursday Night Practice. It is a wonderful time for the Players to break bread together and enjoy some amazing food! We feed the players, coaching staff, managers, trainers and occasionally have a special guest (i.e. Dr. Wyndham, Mr. Shockley, Mr. Young and Mr. Larkey, Dr. Willis). After the volunteers have served, then you get to go through the Line and fill your plate too!
- DINE AND DONATE – We plan to host a couple of these with local restaurants. A specific NIGHT is set aside that they will donate a percentage of their sales to diners who show the Football Flyer for our Program. You MUST provide the Flyer that we send out in order to get the donation to the Program.
- SPIRIT SALE – Fatheads, Decals, Yard Signs – Each year we will provide an Order Form to purchase these items customized to your student athlete. There may also be additional spirit gear sold throughout the season that you can purchase through the Club (TBA).
